Camp Bernie invites school groups to take learning beyond the classroom and into the great outdoors! Located just an hour and a half from New York and under two hours from Philadelphia, students can quickly escape to nature for unforgettable, hands-on experiences.
Camp Bernie's Outdoor Education staff is dedicated to providing participants of all backgrounds and abilities with meaningful opportunities for environmental connection, personal growth, and community building through unique outdoor experiences. Our team-building activities are designed to enhance both individual development and group dynamics by improving communication, fostering collaboration, and building trust. These activities help students solve problems together, boost morale, and strengthen friendships.
At Camp Bernie, we offer both day and overnight programs that complement your school’s curriculum, providing students with hands-on learning experiences that they will cherish for years to come.
Our Outdoor Education programs are available year-round, across all seasons. The curriculum is diverse, flexible, and tailored to students of all ages, while remaining adaptable for teachers and adult professionals.
Our Outdoor Education staff is dedicated to working with you to ensure the best program possible. Starting with the planning process, the Groups and Retreats Director can suggest activity options based on your goals for your trip. The staff facilitating activities once you arrive have gone through hours of training to provide an educational and engaging experience focusing on teamwork.
Camp Bernie offers over 30 Outdoor Education programs encouraging a greater understanding of ourselves, our relationships, our environment and the responsibility we all share in protecting our resources. On-site OE professionals work closely with schools and organizations to provide students with specific activities to gain insight into our environment, as well as the importance of teamwork and group interaction. Please see our complete activity list and list of outside presenters for current program offerings.
Groups that stay overnight will be assigned to lodge in our cabins. Cabins are all-weather with the exception of our Village of Rustic Cabins. Groups will be assigned to cabins based off of the size of their party. Lodging can be requested, specific requests are not guaranteed but will be taken under consideration.
Requesting additional cabins outside of your group capacity may incur additional charges.
We work closely with you throughout the planning process to customize a schedule based on your needs. These schedules are examples, but can be adjusted for your length of stay.
