West on interstate 80 to Exit 26, (Hackettstown/Budd Lake) which is Route 46 West. Go about 7 miles and down the mountain. At the traffic light make a left onto East Avenue. Follow this road until it ends at a “T” junction with a traffic light. Make a left onto Mountain Avenue. Go about ¼ mile, stay in the right lane and make a right onto Route 57. Follow this road for about 6 miles. As soon as this road opens into 2 lanes, get in the left land and look for a YMCA Camp Bernie sign and a green & white “Penwell Road” sign (it comes up quickly). Make a left onto this road and follow the signs that read “YMCA Camp Bernie.”
Note: Should you come to a traffic light on Route 57, you have missed the turn. Simply turn around and Penwell Rd. will be on your right.
Take Route 22 East into New Jersey. Look for the split of Route 57 from Route 22, which will be on the left. Take Route 57 all the way to Washington and follow directions from Washington, NJ.

Take Interstate 78 into New Jersey to Exit 17 for Washington/Route 31 North. Follow Route 31 all the way to Route 57 in Washington. Make a right onto Route 57 and follow the directions from Washington, NJ.
Use Interstate 78 West to Exit 17 for Washington/Route 31 North. Follow Route 31 all the way to Route 57 in Washington. Make a right onto Route 57 and follow the directions from Washington, NJ.
Use Interstate 95 North into New Jersey. After a couple of miles you will find an exit for Route 31. Follow Route 31 North through Flemington (keep a close eye on the signs) and all the way to Washington (about 1 hour from I-95). Make a right at the traffic light in Washington onto Route 57 East and follow the directions from Washington, NJ.
Start at Route 57 East from the Dunkin Donuts and the Washington Theater and go about 3.5 miles to the next light. Go straight for about 400 yards past the light and look for the “YMCA Camp Bernie” sign on the right. Turn right at the next road (Penwell Rd.). Follow YMCA Camp Bernie signs the rest of the way.
Online mapping & GPS devices will use a more rural route, which may be more difficult to navigate (especially for buses). GPS devices also indicate the incorrect location of the camp driveway into our property.
