Fall is a beautiful time to be in the woods!
Bring your family and friends for the weekend and enjoy all the best camp activities: Archery, Climbing, Arts & Crafts, Nature Hikes, Games & Sports, and more or find a shady spot in the beautiful outdoors to enjoy a nap or good book. During the evenings, join our staff in singing songs around the campfire, laugh at their skits, and share your own talents! Our food service staff keeps your taste buds dancing with a variety of fare plus a fully-stocked salad bar every lunch and dinner and a fruit and cereal bar during breakfasts.
Our facilities feature beautiful, spacious cabins with dormitory-style bedrooms, common rooms and bathrooms (Please bring your own bedding and towels). Some cabin groundplans feature separate wings with private entrances/exits. Cabins will be assigned based on registration, families are welcome to request to be housed with or nearby friends.
YMCA Camp Bernie sits within the Schooley Mountains in the northernmost area of Hunterdon County, New Jersey; approximately 1.5 hours from New York City. The camp sits on 275 acres of hilly forests and beautiful streams feeding the Musconetcong River. The surrounding areas include an additional 500 acres of protected county park property including trails and outdoor opportunities in our own backyard.
Our staff is composed of professional caring adults and dedicated role models. We take great care in assuring that our staff will meet our guest’s expectations of fun, learning and safety through seasonal trainings and regular observations and evaluations. We are proudly Accredited by the American Camp Association and licensed by the state of New Jersey.
