Summer Community Lessons

In the summer, Archery Lessons, Swim Lessons, Dirt Bike Lessons, and Trail Rides are open to community participants. These programs run Monday through Thursday with a make-up day on Friday in the event of inclement weather cancellation earlier in the week.

Pony Program (1:30-2:30pm) and Horseback Riding Lessons (2:45-3:45pm) run Monday - Friday.

All summer community programs run on a weekly basis.  Facemasks are required for all classes except swimming.  Masks may be removed when riding a horse or dirtbike.  Safe social distancing measures and cleaning protocols will be implemented.

Archery Lessons

Grades K+, Monday through Thursday, 4-5pm $85/week

Give archery a shot! Learn proper safety and shooting techniques under the close supervision of our trained instructor. You will have the chance to practice and develop your shooting abilities while also exercising your body and mind! 

Swim Lessons

Grades K+, Monday through Thursday, 4-5pm, $85/week

Our American Red Cross certified Lifeguards help children improve their swimming skills through the use of the National YMCA Swim Lesson program.  Children are grouped according to skill level and guided through engaging activities to develop and improve skills.  Swim Lessons are offered 4-5pm Monday through Thursday, with Friday reserved in the event of cancelation due to thunder.

Dirt Bike Lessons

Grades 7+, Monday through Thursday, 4-5pm, $120/week

No experience is needed!  Lessons include safety, mechanics, and techniques of operating the equipment, and instruction take place on our practice field and on camp trails.  Safety equipment is provided including helmet, pads, and gloves, but riders must have long sleeves and boots with ankle support.  Participants are encourages to submit a Dirtbike Questionnaire. 

Horseback Riding Lessons

Grades 3+, Monday through Friday, 2:45-3:45pm, $240/week

Horseback Riding Lessons focus on skill development and building confidence in the saddle. We help participants hone their skills in safely working around horses, confidently leading a horse and mounting/dismounting a horse properly. Participants will be assessed and placed in lessons dependent on their skill level. Since each camper is unique and advances at their own pace, lessons are individually created following CHA guidelines for participants to learn new skills while improving those learned in pervious lessons. Participants must bring long pants and boots with a heel Monday – Friday and are encouraged to submit the Horseback Riding questionnaire prior to their session.

Pony Program

Grades K-3, Monday through Friday, 1:30-2:30pm, $180/week

Pony Program is a wonderful opportunity to introduce young children to the exciting world of horsemanship. Participants will learn how to be calm and confident around horses.  Skills include putting on a halter & lead rope, leading a horse, brushing/grooming and proper use of equipment.  All skills are with the assistance of equestrian staff until participants are comfortable doing them alone.  On hot days we paint the horses and enjoy giving them a bath!  Selected basic riding skills will be taught and participants will be kept on a lead rope.  Participants will need to bring long pants & boots with a heel and are encouraged to submit the Horseback Riding questionnaire prior to their session. 

Trail Rides

Grades 4+, Monday through Thursday, 4-5pm, $160/week

This program is designed for participants who can control a horse on their own at a walking pace, as each camper will ride their own horse.  Participants may get additional instruction in the riding ring or in the stables caring and feeding these beautiful animals. Participants will need to bring long pants & boots with a heel and are encouraged to submit the Horseback Riding questionnaire prior to their session.
