Q: What Type of Certification is Required?
All staff members need to be certified in standard first aid and community CPR. This certification must be current through the end of the employment period. For some positions, those who are not certified upon employment, or whose certification that will run out before the end of their employment period, will be required to attend a special two day training where they will be certified by Camp Bernie.

Camp Bernie strongly encourages all counselors to be certified in Lifeguard Training. It is best to come to camp with Lifeguard Certification already done, for those unable to, Camp Bernie will be offering Lifeguard training the week before general staff training. If interested in attending the lifeguard training please contact the summer camp director.

All staff members will receive: one day off/out per session, one evening off/out per session and two or more hours of down time each day.

Special Note about Night Coverage/Duties:
