Campers will build independence and self-confidence through opportunities to choose from a variety of exciting activities. Campers will form lasting friendships and feel safe and supported as the group pursues shared interests. Campers will mature, develop new skills and progress through programs as they return to Bernie year after year, experiencing innovative, age-appropriate challenges.
With 275 scenic acres YMCA Camp Bernie’s programs offer modernized facilities and a wealth of activities, including swimming, climbing tower, mountain biking, arts and crafts, drama, sports, archery, canoeing and so much more!

YMCA Camp Bernie’s Overnight Camp is a traditional, co-ed program for kids entering grades 2-10 next year. Campers are grouped into living units by age and gender, with each unit divided into cabins composed of 8-10 campers and 2-3 counselors. Our traditions and camp spirit unite our overall camp community as campers are kept busy through instructional activities, structured free play and memorable all camp activities for each two week session. Adventure Day Camp at YMCA Camp Bernie is a thrilling, active day camp program for boys and girls entering grades K-8 next fall. Our weekly sessions allow campers to enjoy and explore everything our beautiful 275 acre facility has to offer. We believe that a camp experience provides children with the unique opportunity to try new things, and discover who they truly are. YMCA Camp Bernie’s Leadership Programs provide teenagers with exciting opportunities to build character and self-esteem. Participants develop communication and leadership skills through team building exercises and hands-on training with staff members in our program areas. Successful completion of a YMCA Camp Bernie leadership program is a fabulous accomplishment for teenagers to list on job and college applications, and is a wonderful first step in seeking employment as a counselor at our camp in future summers.
